Rights and Permissions
The Permanente Journal offers free full-text access for all online content. However, to reproduce, adapt, or otherwise reuse content published in The Permanente Journal in other publications, permission must be obtained prior to use. Most materials published in the backfile of The Permanente Journal are copyrighted and protected.
Although individual sharing of content is permitted, reprint permission is required for republishing or reprinting journal content for which copyright is owned by The Permanente Federation LLC. Where indicated, copyright may be owned by individual authors or other parties. Use as a handout, reprinting, republishing, adapting, or any other use, requires permission. Usage includes, but is not limited to:
- Journal reprints
- Presentation slides for conferences or webinars
- Reproducing or adapting tables, figures, or text for publication in another journal or book
- Handouts
- Online Internet and Intranets
- Material in any other format
